We started an Instagram account and figured out the right combination of buttons to hit in a recording studio to make magic happen. Working there was a great experience, getting to see the ins and outs of what it takes to run a radio show, how advertising and marketing works from the media side, and getting to meet some very cool people along the way — celebrities and the fun people who work there. Most importantly, however, I learned to never take for granted getting to sleep past 5: I worked in the digital production department and collaborated on projects for Popeyes and the United States Air Force.
Some of those projects included testing and distributing recruitment tools for the Air Force and brainstorming on future interactive campaigns for Popeyes.
ADELPHI, Md. — Three student interns returned this summer to work at the organization where they first found their passion for science and technology.
She planned on spending the day with a man she had met online, but not in person. Taylor, a year-old student at Hunter College, had confided in her roommate about the trip and they agreed to swap text messages during the day to make sure she was safe. Once in Greenwich, a man who appeared significantly older than his advertised age of 42 greeted Taylor at the train station and then drove her to the largest house she had ever seen.
He changed into his swimming trunks, she put on a skimpy bathing suit, and then, by the side of his pool, she rubbed sunscreen into the folds of his sagging back — bracing herself to endure an afternoon of sex with someone she suspected was actually about 30 years her senior. Taylor doubted that her client could relate to someone who had grown up black and poor in the South Bronx. A love match it wasn’t. But then again, this was no ordinary date.
A website called SeekingArrangement. Intrigued by the promise of what the site billed as a ” college tuition sugar daddy ,” Taylor created a “sugar baby” profile and eventually connected with the man from Greenwich. Neither she nor any of the other women interviewed for this article permitted their real names be used. In her profile on the site, Taylor describes herself as “a full-time college student studying psychology and looking to meet someone to help pay the bills.

The Teacher Preparation Program truly prepared me for the day-to-day challenges that come with teaching. I learned how to be flexible and think on my toes. In addition to relevant assignments and readings, the exchanges between me and my peers have been invaluable. When we were going to placement sites, we put what we were learning into practice. It was helpful to come back to class and share what we were seeing because we all had such different experiences.
It was also cool to hear about what was happening in different schools and at different grade-levels. Through this dialogue, I learned various strategies for managing different types of classrooms and increasing student participation. Most importantly, though, I learned how to be a social equity teacher. I learned how to reach all of my students. Not all students will come in with the same background, but every student does come in with valuable strengths and prior knowledge.
Establishing strong relationships with my students is one of the most important teaching practices for me, and MSU taught me how to go about this sensibly.

Now, nurses are choosing NOT to date doctors. They have crazy hours Typically, nurses enter into relationships with first year interns or residents.

Mary Catherine Bertulfo Sponsor: Youth Education Services Y. My primary objective is to create a transition toolkit which will be used to address topics with HIV infected youth that are necessary for a successful transition from pediatric care to adult services. Topics include establishing a medication routine, learning how to make medical appointments, learning about dating violence, and keeping healthy habits and a positive attitude. Issues concerning stigma, body image and access to services for marginalized people have been discussed in WGS courses I have taken.
The courses have also prepared me to work with many different people in the community including sex workers and transgendered individuals. The internship provided me with the valuable opportunity to gain experience with working in the public health sector. I plan to apply for a Masters of Public Health program after graduation. The Haven of RCS My primary duty is serving as a legal advocate at the Clearwater Justice Center helping victims through the injunction filing process.
Terminology[ edit ] Addiction is defined by Webster Dictionary as a “compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly: Another commonly associated pathology is video game addiction , or Internet gaming disorder IGD. He used this term because it was a suitable fit to his parody.
This idea he conjured was to demonstrate the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders handbook’s complexity and rigidity.
Q: My daughter is in medical school, where she has encountered an odd terminology. When a senior doctor asks questions of an intern or a medical student, the “asking” is referred to as “pimping.”.
Having a Baby During Medical School “I am totally dedicated to getting into your medical school and believe I would make an excellent doctor. However, I’d like to have a baby. When would be the best time to do that? But for many MomMD members, this question at the top of their “cannot-be-discussed” list. There seems to be no perfect time to have a baby during medical school, yet there are many women having planned or surprise babies during medical school, and it is something that can be done.
Hear what MomMD members have experienced in the following examples. All names have been changed to protect identity. This article was based on discussions in one of the medical school forums. I had a baby during my fourth year, and took the year after my graduation off before starting residency. However, I know several people who have taken breaks mostly at the end of second year.
This is kind of a natural break point, because at most medical schools the first two years are spent in the classroom, and the second two years are spent doing clinical rotations. There are also some cushy research jobs that can allow you a great deal of flexibility if you look around,” says one MomMD member. But why on earth would anyone choose to have a baby during challenging medical school years? There are many reasons, including for some older non-traditional students, a “booming biological clock,” says year-old first-year student, Emma.
Practice questions are a great way to quiz yourself during each rotation. Many students learn easiest when they study a chief complaint they encountered that day. Then stick to your daily reading assignment. Listen and take notes on rounds.
Yet, without stellar content, journalism 2. Everything journalism was, is and will be rests on our ability to tell a story. And every story starts with an idea. To help get you started, below is a quick-hit, unending, hopefully indispensable, fun, fun, fun digital story ideas fountain. It is aimed at inspiring student journalists to localize, adapt and reinvent a range of stories — quirky and mainstream, text-based and visual, interactive and investigatory.
Many ideas come from your student press peers. Others originate with the professional press. And still others are pulled from independent journalists, viral videos and social media mavericks that catch my eye. Along with providing a barebones blueprint and some links for specific stories and features, the larger goal is one also found in my book Journalism of Ideas: I want to ensure j-students the world over have the confidence to come across any person, place, thing, event, trend, viewpoint, document, law, word or even a single letter and respond with an idea — a good one, a newsworthy one, one worth reporting.
I will update the list in somewhat real-time, as cool ideas cross my path.
Suzanne Greenhall, a marriage and family therapist graduate student at Whitworth, is launching the program and other students will soon follow. Greenhall has office hours at Medical Lake High School twice a week to meet with students and families. Many of the people she worked with said their issues started in childhood, and Barlow said she wants to focus on early intervention in her work in the school district.
Geraldine is a medical intern who believes that all people deserve access to medical care, but she also knows that throughout her career she will have to make decisions about which patients will receive a scarce, life-saving medication.
Are you planning to travel solo? This is based on my personal experience and life story. We both want to buy land to build our very own yoga resort in the Philippines. Also, if you travel in mostly Asian countries, having a Filipino passport has way more advantage than his, he has to pay more than me! Why do you care? If I was looking for a sugar daddy, I must have been blinded by that magic white skin again!
I even had five freelance jobs at the same time in Hanoi, Vietnam as we wanted to save more than ever! I taught English, yoga classes to children and even handled the Marketing Department of a western-owned company while in Vietnam, oh did I mention that I won a Vietnamese reality TV show? He works, I work. He saves, I save.
Katz on December 1, at In this post I will be discussing the day to day schedule during your clinical years, specifically your third year because fourth year is basically like senior year of college. During the first two years of medical school, regardless of what school you attend, everyone basically learns the same stuff.
There are many reasons, including for some older non-traditional students, a “booming biological clock,” says year-old first-year student, Emma. “I had my (now four-week-old) son during the middle of my third year of medical school.

The pictures sent along with the letters usually have names of the files like Viktoryia Siaminova Minsk I was corresponding with several Russian women when 1 girl in particular seemed to stand out.
She wrote to me everyday of the week without fail. Each letter was so perfect it seemed that she read my mind. Of course in the first month she said she was doing fine and didn’t need any money. Right after this she mentioned a wonderful trip sponsored by the local University and set up by an Aunt and it would allow her to visit New York on a visitor’s visa for 3 weeks and we could meet.
Needless to say this plus the fact that I could not call her and she was very against me visiting her in Minsk due to the ‘unromantic’ nature of her city. What is most unusual is that I speak Russian as I did that in the US Army and thus she should have been happy for me to visit her. Let me add some things that threw up red flags for me: Getting her to respond to specifics was difficult.
I wanted to discuss the fact that I had children and she skirted the subject.
